ThyssenKrupp’s Stair-Glide has advanced features, the most significant of which is the hand pendant control; fold up arms and the foot obstruction sensors. In addition to these features, the stair lift also has over speed brake and a joystick control on the arm, which makes the control easier even for people who are not able to use their hands properly. Stairs are composed of stringers, stair treads and stair risers. The stringers are the slanted members on the sides of the stairs which sit on the floor and are tightly attached at the top of the staircase. In most stair construction, there are two stringers installed on each set of steps. The stair treads are the sections in which you step on to travel up and down the stairs. Stair treads are usually made of wood.
Selecting a stair-lift has now become very easy with the Internet. There are the websites of different manufacturers where not only the product types are shown, but also the features of each of the products are shown so that the costs can be compared relative to the features that each of the products has to offer. In this way, you can easily decide in favour of one of the stair lifts that offer similar features. The Electra-Ride by Bruno stair-lift is an accessibility product that is similar to ThyssenKrupp’s Stair-Glide in certain aspects. The former has all controls, automatic, and is compact and unique in design. The seat height is adjustable so that the seating is comfortable. With its compact design, it is ensured that other people would be able to easily use the stairs even when the stair lift is fixed.
Adjustable brackets are designed to be user friendly, fast, accurate and above all, strong. In fact, the brackets do most of the work. They automatically adjust to the exact rise and run and are approved as "adjustable joist hangers". This allows the risers to act like floor joists, carrying the load across the stair between the stringers which means only two stringers are required for stairs up to nine feet in width. Additionally, each stringer requires only three to four end cuts (only six to eight cuts per stair!)....significantly eliminating dozens of saw tooth cuts which are often required for conventional stringers.
